An autonomous sentient and sapient combat mech with flight capabilities, URWST-105-2 a.k.a. “Ben” possesses the maturity of a middle-aged man and the curiosity of a 5-year-old boy. Formerly an overpowered enemy of Luke only months before, he is now Veronus’ closest companion on the trip other than Gilles. Ben follows the duo fearlessly to ensure everyone not only makes it across the country alive, but with sanity to spare and with all of his own AI components intact. Standing an intimidating 15.5 feet tall, Ben is a force to be reckoned with in his various attack modes, able to precisely knock out swaths of human and robotic infantry using a set of energy-based armaments, and physically launch his reinforced structure against the heaviest of objects without suffering damage. Yet his natural speech, humor, and caring demeanor reminds those he trusts that machines aren’t always servants to humans or there to eviscerate them; some are capable of showing true wisdom even when humanity around them lacks it.
